Because of the limited food options at this resort, you may want to rent a car so you can find your own restaurants off-site.

Caribbean Beach is one of Disney's Moderate resorts.  The theme is (obviously) one of a Caribbean tropical paradise with lush gardens, several pools and island themed buildings.

The 200 acre resort surrounds a 45 acre lake - Barefoot Bay. Caribbean Beach consists of the Custom House registration area and five brightly colored "villages" -- each named after a Caribbean island like Trinidad, Martinique, Barbados, Aruba, and Jamaica

Each village has its own pool, playground and beach area.

Guests can walk to the main gathering place at the resort: Old Port Royale which contains a giant swimming area with waterfall and slide. Old Port Royale also contains shops, restaurants and recreation activities.

Is the Disney Caribbean Beach resort the right hotel for you? Here's a quick review to help you decide.

Theme: Caribbean Tropical Paradise

Room Notes:  Rooms are some of the largest of all the moderate resorts size with pale-wood furnishings, and island prints.  Rooms are found in one of 5 "villages": Aruba, Jamaica, Trinidad, Martinique and Barbados.

While Martinique and Barbados are closer to the Customer hall check-in, Aruba, Jamaica and Trinidad (North) are closer to Port Royale, where most of the action is (pool, recreation, shopping, restaurant).

Dining Options:  The dining options are very limited here. In addition to the restaurants below there are also the pool bars and pizza delivery options:

Shutters at Old Port Royale (Full Service)
Old Port Royale Food Court (Quick Service)

Transportation: Transportation options are also limited to bus service only.

- Buses to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, Water parks and Disney Resorts.

Recreation: Most of the action is centered around the old Port Royale area, including the main pool:

- 7 pools - Main pool with waterfalls, water slides and shooting water cannons
- 1 Whirlpool spa
- Children Pool
- Children's play area
- Beach Area
- Volleyball
- Bike Rental
- Jogging Trail
- Marina
- Arcade

Strengths:

- More affordable than the deluxe resorts
- Lots of great recreation options
- Because each complex has its own pool, the pools are less crowded than the main one

Weaknesses:

- Only bus service available to the theme parks
- Not as close to the parks as the deluxe resorts
- Very limited food/restaurant options
- No Fitness Center
Resort Tip:

You'll find live music every night in the Old Port Royale area.
