Disney's Port Orleans Resort is divided into 2 sections - Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside. The Riverside resort is the larger of the two.

The theme is rural Louisiana along the banks of the Mississippi river.  There are two parts to the resort - Magnoia bend, a stately antebellum mansion and Alligator Bayou which has several groups of rustic, county-style lodges.

One of the main benefits to this moderate resort is the boat taxi to Downtown Disney (and Port Orleans French Quarter).

Is Port Orleans Riverside the right hotel for you? Here's a quick review to help you decide.

Theme: Historic Louisiana Town in the days of Mark Twain

Room Notes:  The resort is divided into 2 areas: Magnolia Bend - a stately mansion and Alligator Bayou with groups of rustic, charming lodges. Rooms are decorated with a Southern touch: hickory woodwork, brass bathroom fixtures and quilted bedspreads.

Rooms are average size for a moderate resort and many are scheduled for updates this year.

Dining Options:  Your dining options here are limited - however you can hop on the boat taxi to Downtown Disney, which has lots of restaurants of all different varieties.

The restaurants available at the Disne Port Orleans Riverside are:

Boatwright's Dining Hall (Full Service)

Riverside Mill Food Court

Transportation: Transportation options are better at this resort than several of the other moderate resorts, mainly because of the boat taxi.

- Water Taxi to Downtown Disney or Port Orleans French Quarter
- Walking Distance to Port Orleans French Quarter
- Buses to all Theme parks, Water parks, Downtown Disney, Disney Resort hotels

Recreation: The resort has 6 different pools however the main one -  Ol' Man Island was created to look like an old-time water hole, with rope swings, a waterslide, and a play area.

- 6 pools - Main one is Ol' Man Island with slide and rope swings
- 1 Whirlpool spa
- Children's Pool
- Arcade
- Playground
- Running/Jogging trail
- Bike Rentals
- Watercraft Rentals
- Fishing

Strengths:

- Boat taxi to downtown Disney
- The grounds with gardens, courtyards and gazebos are quite beautiful and make for a romantic atmosphere.

Weaknesses:

- No Fitness Center
