Future World - The first area when you enter in the front of the park, centered around Spaceship Earth.  It's theme is mainly man's past and future.

World Showcase - This part consists of 11 international pavilions spaced around around the World Showcase Lagoon. The World Showcase shows the cultures, food and history of various nations like Mexico, Norway, Germany, China, Japan, America, Morocco, France, Canada and the UK.

Many adults actually find Epcot Center much more interesting than the Magic Kingdom because of the different countries represented along with different international cuisine in the World Showcase.

Epcot Center Ride Favorites:

Soarin' - A must see. Panoramic views of California make you feel as if you're flying.

Mission Space - Dark ride where you train to be an astronaut and take a space mission. A favorite - especially with guys however it may not be suitable for those with claustrophobia or motion sickness.

Test Track - Fast paced car coaster ride, lots of fun.

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience - This Family favorite is a 3D movie twist on the movie "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids"

The Seas with Nemo and Friends -Slow ride through the under seas with all the characters from finding Nemo, including Turtle talk with Crush.

Maelstrom - Viking boat water ride, quite gentle and a lot of fun at the Norway pavilion.

Gran Fiesta Boat Tour - Gentle boat cruise in the Mexican pavilion that now incorporates the 3 caballeros.

Dining:

While there aren't as many places for character dining as you find at Magic Kingdom (there is the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway pavilion and the Garden Grill restaurant with Mickey and friends) there are a lot of upscale, incredibly diverse restaurants to choose from - especially in the World Showcase.

You can try French, German, Moroccan, Chinese, Mexican, Steakhouse (Canadian), Seafood, Japanese, Italian and good old British pub fare.

It is recommended that you make reservations for these restaurants as soon as possible as many are filled up months in advance.

Favorite Places To Eat At Epcot Center:

Les Chefs De France - At the France pavilion, it offers delicious food and excellent atmosphere. Plus you may even see Remy from 'Ratatouille'! Good value for the money.

Le Cellier - Found in the Canadian pavilion, this steakhouse is very popular. Great atmosphere, excellent food - if you can get in, it's a must try.

Restaurant Marrakesh - If you want a more exotic experience, they offer great Morrocan food plus live entertainment with bellydancing.

Boulangerie Patisserie -  Tucked in the back streets of the French pavilion this is an absolute must try desserts and pastries - great for a coffee break.

Biergarten Restaurant - Offers an all-you-can-eat Oktoberfest type German buffet. The apple strudel is fantastic

Other Attractions:

Epcot Center also offers a lot of other entertainment including Mariachi bands at the Mexican pavilion to Dragon Legend Acrobats at the Chinese pavilion to Turtle Talk with Crush (at the Seas with Nemo and friends pavilion) to classic character greetings with Mickey and Minnie all around the park.

There is usually a fireworks demonstration every night (Illuminations) before closing at the World Showcase Lagoon.

If you don't necessarily care about the fireworks, it's a great time to try some of the more popular attractions as most people will be watching the fireworks.

Strengths:

- Some of the best restaurants at Disney with excellent food variety
- Because it's larger than the Magic Kingdom or Hollywood Studios, it can seem less crowded
- Back door into the park (International Gateway) is appreciated by guests staying at the Epcot resorts like the Boardwalk or Yacht Club and Beach Club resorts who can walk to Epcot.
- Most educational of all the Disney Theme parks so many adults really like Epcot
- Easy To Navigate Layout

Weaknesses:

- Because of the educational theme, young children may not like this park as much
- Not as many 'thrill rides' as Magic Kingdom (although Test Track is popular)

Tips For Navigating Epcot at Walt Disney World
Fascinating Fact: Epcot stands for

Experimental
Prototype
Community
of
Tomorrow.

It was not originally slated as a theme park but as a town.

Walt Disney wanted it to be a test community for the future.  It would have about twenty thousand residents and be designed in the shape of a circle, with businesses and commercial areas at its center, community buildings and schools around it, and residential neighborhoods along the perimeter.

Although the planned community never materialized, the original model of Walt Disney's vision of EPCOT can still be seen by passengers riding the Tomorrowland Transit Authority attraction in the Magic Kingdom park (when the PeopleMover enters the showhouse for Stitch's Great Escape, the model is visible on the left behind glass.)
Tips for Adults - Unlike the Magic Kingdom which does not serve alcohol, many of the International Pavilions do serve alcoholic beverages.
Fascinating Fact:  The pavement at Epcot Center was engineered by Disney and Kodak photography to be painted a specific custom color of pink that makes the grass look greener and pictures look brighter. The colored sidewalks also give an overall cleaner look to the park.

Epcot Center Tip: There is a back door entrance into Epcot between the France and United Kingdom Pavilions known as the International Gateway.  The International Gateway leads into the World Showcase.

Guests staying in a number of the Disney Resorts like the Boardwalk, Yacht club or the Beach club can walk from their resorts into the International Gateway.  You can also walk a short distance (or take a boat taxi) from Disney Hollywood studios into the International Gateway.

Be aware though that the World Showcase usually opens 2 hours later than Future World. So if you want to hit the park early, go through the main entrance at Epcot into Future World.

Guests staying at the Epcot resorts listed above can go to Hollywood Studios then take the bus to the front entrance at Epcot.

The Epcot Center in Disney World was the second park to be built in 1982 (after the Magic Kingdom.) It has more of an educational, futuristic focus that many adults and older kids enjoy.

Epcot is twice the size of the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (but still smaller than the Animal Kingdom).

Today Epcot Center is the 3rd most visited theme park in North America (the first is the Magic Kingdom) and consists of 2 parts:
