Going to Disney World? Here are some of the main things you need to decide and do:
1) When Are You Going?
Disney World has busy and slow seasons just like any vacation spot. You may have a set vacation time or you may be able to choose.
Different times of the year offer different prices, crowd levels and attraction options.
For more information see:
2) Disney Resort or Orlando Hotel?
Disney has a myriad of choices (and not all of them are over-the-top expensive) for resort options.
You may also decide to stay at an Orlando hotel near the parks and rent a car to drive back and forth. To help you decide which option is best for you, here are a few articles:
Disney World Resorts - Types of Disney World Resorts along with advantages and disadvantages to each.
3) How To Book
You can choose to book your vacation as a package (hotel and air or hotel, air and tickets) or you could price out options and book separately.
Which is cheapest? It really depends. For detailed information on your booking options see:
4) Ticket Options & Where To Buy
If you're buying tickets separately, you have several options. One thing you don't want to do is just buy your tickets when you get to the park - that is the most expensive option!
For a list of your ticket options and where to buy discount tickets see:
Disney World Tickets - This article lays out your ticket options and gives you tips on where and how to save on Disney World tickets.
5) Make Dining Reservations
If you're planning on dining at Disney, you'll want to make reservations as soon as possible. Most restaurants take reservations up to 180 days in advance. For facts on dining reservations see:
6) Get Ready!
Depending on who you're going with (spouse, kids, friends), you may want to do lots of research on the different parks or plan out your itinerary before you go.
Researching before your trip can be a lot of fun and get you (and your kids) really excited about your vacation.
There are lots of sources to look at (including this site) which will give you general information, reviews and tips to navigate your way through the parks and get the most from your vacation.
